Congratulations: Pat O’Rourke Receives the 2020 Canadian Veterans Commendation Award

On October 8, 2020, Master Corporal (Retired) Patrick Joseph O’Rourke attended a virtual online ceremony hosted by the Right-Honorable Lawrence McAulay, Minister of Veteran Affairs Canada, to receive this award.  The Commendation is “awarded to individuals who have performed commendable service to the Veteran community and/or individuals who represent commendable role models for their fellow Veterans." Pat has contributed over 20 years of service to veterans through his work with the Canadian Legion and the Caribou Memorial Pavilion. In 2014, Pat championed the building of the Veterans Memorial in our town to honour all those residents who have served.

The Commendation consists of a certificate, a lapel pin for civilian wear, and a bar to wear with decorations. Pat was nominated for this award by our Association’s Veterans Memorial Committee.
