Discover Logy Bay: High above the long abandon fishing flakes and rooms on Cadigan’s side of Logy Bay stands the remains of the Red Cliff Air Station.

The American General Surveillance ground radar station was opened in 1953 and became home to the 642d Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron till its closure in 1961. During the Cold War era, its job was to watch for unidentified intruder aircraft and send interceptor aircraft to check them out. The site also contains the remains of a WWII 2 gun battery and bunker that guarded ships in the area from 1943-1945. The deteriorating ruins of many of the buildings are still visited by hikers exploring Cobblers Path, one of the 3 east coast trails in our Town.
