On Tuesday, February 11, we held our Annual General Meeting & Election of Officers in Council's Chambers at our LBMCOC Town Hall.

In addition to our 9-member board of directors, we were joined by invited guests, Mayor Denis Hickey and Councillor Ros Kinsella. The chair, Steve Walsh, presented his annual report which provided an overview of our activities, achievements, and financial performance for the year 2024. These reports are essential for strategic planning, helping us assess our progress and set future goals for 2025 and beyond.

Key highlights in 2024 included projects such as: 1) Veterans Memorial Phase III expansion, 2) SFOA K-6 school activities at the community garden, and 3) community fundraisers. Recognition was given to our 26 corporate donors, 32 individual donors, and 24 volunteers; their contributions and support have played a significant role in achieving our mission and positively impacting our community.

Following the annual report, elections for the Board chairperson and treasurer took place, with Steve Walsh being acclaimed as chair and Dale Hutchens as treasurer for the period of 2025-2027. Special thanks were extended to the outgoing Treasurer, John Doyle, who held the position since the fall of 2017. John will continue to serve as co-chair of our Planning & Development Committee.
